Allergen Immunotherapy Vaccine for Oral Application

To guarantee a high success rate of immunotherapy, free consultations are available to veterinarians on immunotherapy treatments and selection of allergens to be included in the allergen immunotherapy vaccine.  We offer immunotherapy vaccines for treatment in both injectable and oral applications. You will receive your orders for allergen prescription set within 7 – 10 working days after your immunotherapy order is received in our state-of-the-art USDA licensed facility.  Allergy is a complex disease and every case requires individual attention. This is why our veterinary allergy experts are available to work with you on patient-by-patient basis with consultations on your patient’s allergen immunotherapy so that you can achieve the high success rate that VARL Liquid Gold customers enjoy.

You asked for a serum allergy test that is accurate for determining the culprit allergens that make your dog and cat patients itch so miserably … AND WE HEARD YOU!  VARL Liquid Gold is the only serum allergy test that is unique in the field of serum allergy testing.  Unlike the solid phase ELISA that is used by our competitors, Liquid Gold is a liquid-phase matrix enzyme immunometric technology that is specifically engineered to eliminate false positive results and Liquid Gold hyposensitization results have been shown to be as reliable as intradermal skin testing.

We have over 22 customized allergen panels for different geographical areas in North America and also 18 other countries worldwide.  The allergens are selected from our comprehensive list of allergens to best suit each region where the patient is located.  Contact us to find out which of the different customized panels will be best for your patients.

You would need to submit 3 – 5 ml of serum for environmental and food allergen-specific IgE testing. Patients may remain on corticosteroids, antihistamines, Atopica,  Apoquel and Cytopoint for testing with VARL Liquid Gold.  No withdrawal time from these drugs is required.  The convenience of not having to withhold any of these drugs for several weeks from your patients is a relief for you, your patient and your clients.  Lipemic and hemolysed sera do not interfere with Liquid Gold and such sera are acceptable for testing.  Serum sent to the laboratory does not have to be sent on ice.  Results are available 4 – 5 working days after serum sample is received at the laboratory.

The goal for performing allergy testing is to uncover the substances in the patient’s environment and in the food the pet eats which are triggering allergic manifestations in the pet.  The next course of action would be how to prevent the pet from coming into contact with the identified culprit allergens.  Environmental allergens are practically impossible to avoid.  These allergens come from various sources comprising mostly pollens from weeds, trees and grasses.  There are also other sources of allergens such as epidermal dander from humans and numerous other animal sources, molds, mites and insects – including fleas.  What cannot be avoided must be tolerated; otherwise, the suffering will persist.  The goal of allergen immunotherapy is to help the pet develop tolerance to the substances causing their allergy.  Allergy to food substances is best controlled by avoidance once the food items have been identified.

We have over 22 different allergen panels customized for North America (United States, Canada and Mexico).  For areas that have more diverse climatic variations such as California, Florida and Texas, we have established three separate panels for each of these regions.  For example we have dedicated panels for Northern California, Central California and Southern California.  Each panel consists of 40 individual allergens for the environmental allergens.  Two food allergy panels are available consisting of a Primary Panel of 12 food items and an Extended panel of 20 food items.  For a more comprehensive evaluation of the pet’s allergy profile it is recommended that the environmental panel of 40 and the Extended Food panel of 20 be performed.
